Beginner Lindy Hop: Playing with Eights (Observatory)

Swing music is structured in chunks of eight “counts” per bar – as swing dancers, we intuitively fit our footwork rhythms into those bars and build our basic repertoire from there. So in this series, we’ll lure you onto the social dance floor with some classic lindy hop moves that fill the jazz phrase.

The series is beginner-friendly: specially designed for those who have no dance experience, and for those who have danced other types of dances but want to try lindy hop for the first time. The classes are structured so that newcomers may join at any time.

R100 pp/class. No need to bring a partner. Anyone can lead or follow, roles not gendered.
