Learn Tap Dance with Yana!

Tap is a dance with a rich history rooted in African-American culture, where the most important thing is rhythm. In this workshop series, you’ll learn to execute different rhythmical patterns (and create your own!) using your feet and body. Tap can be done with or without music, because your body becomes a musical instrument! Yana has been tap dancing for the last 7 years and is thrilled to share tap fundamentals with the Cape Town community.

About Yana:
Yana Sanamyantz (Armenia/Russia) is a jazz, lindy hop & tap dancer, performer, teacher and DJ. She grew up surrounded by jazz and discovered dancing much later. She fell in love with the swing dance scene from her first lindy hop lesson and started devoting all her time to music and dancing. Raised with love in the Moscow Swing Dance Society, she soon became a teacher there and, within a few years, started to travel as an international dance instructor. Yana shares joy, respect and love for the dance with her students in everything she does.
