All Levels: Learn how to do the Stew (Observatory)
Mama’s Stew, aka The Stew, is a super fun, high-energy solo jazz routine that is perfect for dancers of all experience levels. The routine originated as a warmup dance used by Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers during their practice sessions at the Savoy Ballroom. The name comes from Mama Lu Parks, a former hostess at the Savoy and dancer who preserved the routine by regularly performing it with her dance group, and helped bring Lindy Hop to a new generation of dancers.
Check out this great rendition from Remy, Julien, and Florent!
